Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognise the signs that indicate someone may be engaging in non-suicidal self-injury.
  2. Know how to have a supportive conversation with someone who is engaging in non-suicidal self-injury.
  3. Use an evidence-based action plan to initiate a mental health first aid conversation.
  4. Understand the professional resources and supports available for people engaging in non-suicidal self-injury.
  5. Know the barriers to help-seeking and how to overcome these.
  6. Know how to recognise signs of and provide initial support to someone who may be at risk of suicide.
  7. Apply self-care practices as a Mental Health First Aider.
